School Bags and PE Queries
Dear Parents and Carers
I hope each and every family from our school community is enjoying the summer break and down time.
As you are preparing for the return to school in September a number of families have been in touch regarding school bags and PE uniform.
As we become more used to living with Covid and our knowledge around transmission increases (thanks to science), we can return using school bags on a daily basis. It will be a safer journey for those children travelling by bicycle and scooter as well as being more convenient for you as a family. I would ask that each weekend the school bag gets a good clear out and a rigorous clean with antiseptic wipes for everyone’s benefit.
We are not ditching the school uniform for the new PE uniform, but the new PE uniform brings us all options for wearing something comfortable and suitable for those days that the children are engaged in PE lessons or in “sporting” afterschool activities. For PE, families can choose to continue to wear the blue shorts and yellow polo shirt or the new PE gear. We will be stricter this year in the wearing of uniform and standard PE gear. “Own clothes” will not be permitted for these activities as the correct PE gear can be worn all day to reduce the need to change and keep the bubbles intact.
Enjoy the rest of the summer break and if there are any queries drop me an email, and while I’m still officially on holidays, I will endeavour to answer.
See you all in September.
