Reading Update

Dear Parents,

Reading will be due to commence very soon for your child and the class teacher will communicate this to you soon.

In preparation for this we wanted to stress the importance of regular daily reading to improve your child’s overall school performance.

This year, due to the split of classes in each year group, there may be a slight overlap in the books sent home. This may result in a pupil reading a book they have previously read. We will endeavour to keep this to a minimum but would appreciate your support if this does happen.

Remember a range of reading material is important for a child’s reading development so please do compliment their school reading book with your own reading material or with books from the local library.

Our P4/R4 – P7/R7 will also have access to myOn so this can be used to boost their reading. These are currently being updated and pupils will be advised later when access to both is available.
