January Outoodr Challenge results are in!
Our January Outdoor challenge was to find which visiting scavanger comes to our school most often. The classes have been out and about during the day to tally which crow or gull species is spotted around our school most often and the results are in!! During January we spotted:
black-headed gulls 181 times
great black backed gulls 83 times
rooks 63 times
lesser black backed gulls 62 times
magpies 49 times
hooded crows 41 times
jackdaws 31 times.
Therefore we crown the black headed gull as our schools most common scavanging visitor! We see large flocks of these birds descend on our playgrounds after break and lunch!
Thank you to all the classes for participating.
