Feb 7th - Covid Update for parents
7th February 2022
Dear parents and carers
This past couple of weeks we’ve been managing Covid within the pupil population as well as its impact on staff. This has directly translated into class closures and a return to remote learning for some. Where we have staff available to us to keep the classes open, we have done that, but unfortunately we haven’t been able to manage this for all classes.
EA and PHA tell us that the peak is still to come around mid-February, but I’m sincerely hoping we are ahead of that curve.
Mrs Lavery’s classes re-opens for Tuesday 8th and Wednesday 9th and more information to follow regarding the remainder of the week.
The classes to remain closed for face to face, accessing remote learning are:
Rang 2 – closed all week
Rang 3 – Monday – Wednesday (reopen on Thursday and Friday)
Rang 5 – closed all week
Rang 7 – closed all week
All arrangements can change at a moment’s notice and we will do our very best to give parents as much warning as possible about class closure.
Where the teacher informs you of a high proportion of pupils currently testing positive you will be asked to perform a Lateral Flow Test on your child before coming to school the next day. Please accommodate this request as a means of helping us manage the spread of Covid throughout the class, and the adults within these classes.
Just a reminder that school will close for mid-term break to all pupils next week (14th-18th) and will reopen on Monday 21st February.
Stay safe and well
Orla O’Dowd
Principal
