Dear Parents & Carers
The dates for the Sacrament of Confirmation have been finalised (at last I hear you cry.)
The final week of April will see all our boys and girls confirmed and as we are still in lockdown the Confirmation Service will be celebrated by Fr. Wright for the three St. Francis’ PS classes and by Fr. Fitzpatrick for our Bunscoil children.
The children should wear their school uniform for the service and only the P/R7 child and their parents (max 2 adults) will be invited to attend. The service will be beamed out through the web camera and other family members and sponsors are invited to watch remotely.
I hope that restrictions will be sufficiently relaxed to allow you to have a family gathering afterwards, but we do know from PHA information last year that the September Confirmations and Communions, with their after-parties, contributed massively to the spike in Covid-19 cases across the province in the Autumn time. So I urge caution.
